  • Two Tap Trio

    Two-time Live Ireland Awards “Best Vocalist of the Year” (and fantastic flute player) Norah Rendell, fiddler Mary Vanorny and guitarist Brian Miller are the Two Tap Trio. Formed in 2007 and based in the Twin Cities, the Two Tap Trio mixes driving fiddle and flute duets with Norah’s singing, underpinned by intricate guitar and bouzouki backing.

    Grammy award-winning children’s performer Dan Zanes and Haitian-American music therapist/jazz vocalist Claudia Zanes have been making music with each other since the day they met in the fall of 2016. The two decided while sitting at Dan’s kitchen table that afternoon that they would continue singing together and, in the spirit of progress and inclusion, would work with presenters to try and make all of their concerts sensory-friendly.

    Rush Benson is an actor, dancer, teacher, musician, and choreographer originally from Minneapolis, MN.  Rush has worked as an actor, dancer and choreographer at numerous professional theaters around the Twin Cities area including The Guthrie, The Ordway, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, Park Square Theater, Artistry Theater, and The Old Log Theater.

    Larry is an actor, two-time World Champion Fancy Dancer, an Eagle Dancer, and is from the Meskwaki Nation in Tama, Iowa. He is the Founder and Artistic Director for Native Pride Productions, Inc. which is based in St. Paul, MN.  He founded Native Pride Productions to give back to his community and to the world.  “By sharing life stories through music, dance and storytelling, we nurture meaningful communication among all people.”

    NUNNABOVE has performed on America’s Got Talent, as well as with some of the Twin Cities’ superstars, Sounds of Blackness and Jearlyn Steele. They released their first album, Season 1, in November 2019. NUNNABOVE is Cadence (20), lead singer and bass player; Mattie (19), keyboardist and musical director; Bennett (17), guitarist; and Wisdom (15), drummer.
  • Squonk Opera

    EDUCATOR VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP

    Festival favorite Squonk Opera returns to the Ordway for their third engagement! In Hand to Hand, the Squonker’s signature blend of original progressive rock, humor, and eye-catching art installations is on full display. Fingers fly, hands wave, and giant thumbs become truly opposable in a guitar challenge for the ages. The show intersperses a live outdoor recording of Hand to Hand with STEAM-based learning enrichment moments, allowing students to see how the art and science of Squonk come together to create an experience like no other.
